Nine reasons I have never been as excited about bitcoin as I am today
I've been involved with bitcoin for over three years now. My initial involvement had nothing to do with money, but more of a fascination with "decentralized network tokens". Something has changed recently though and I wanted to share it. I've never said "to the moon" or imagined that bitcoin would really go "mainstream", but as I watch the cryptocurrency ecosystem develop I'm struck by the realization that bitcoin is going big. Here are my top indicators. You may think some of these are no big deal, but remember it was only four years ago that Laszlo Hanyecz paid 10,000 BTC for two pizzasJUST to demonstrate that it was possible. I used Mainstream Media references with actual headlines where possible. In no particular order

It has been ten years since the first crypto currency was launched: the Bitcoin. Today, numerous similar constructions exist alongside it. A representative ING survey in 13 European countries as well as Australia and the USA shows that digital currencies are not yet an alternative for consumers.
Bitcoin friendly USA Banks? I found 2 very unfriendly Banks today while trying to Wire funds to Coinbase.
So, I attempted to wire some money into my Coinbase account today. I've successfully used the ACH method 4 times prior, with amounts in the several thousand dollars (USD) range. However, ACH takes too long and I wanted to speed the process up with a Wire Transfer. So, I sit down with a US Bank employee today and he started asking me questions as to where the money was going and what it was for, etc. As soon as I mentioned "exchange", he asked me if I was buying Bitcoin. I explained that I wasn't specifically buying Bitcoin with the wired funds, just funding my exchange account to purchase cryptocurrency after my money is transferred to my Coinbase account. At that point, he started treating me as if I was Pablo Escobar and I was attempting to launder my drug money. He stopped the process immediately and stated their policy was to refuse any transactions that dealt with cryptocurrency. He was rather terse about the whole thing. I mentioned to him the previous successful transfers I've done via ACH transfers and he said if they had known about it, they would have stopped those too. He essentially threatened to close out my accounts for fraudulent activity after that. So I bid him a good day and left. I went to Wells Fargo and talked to one of their reps. I made it clear, up front, that I wanted to open a checking account, solely for the purpose of transferring money to an "online exchange" that allows me to purchase Bitcoin once my money arrives in my account. They refused as well. They also treated me as if my prime objective was to launder money. They want no part in any type of cryptocurrency, even if they are not even involved in the actual purchase, just moving my money to another account, at another financial institution. Nope, Nope, Nope. So, as a USA citizen (Arizona if it matters), how do I ACH/Wire money to Coinbase (or any Crypto Exchange for that matter) without running afoul of bank policy? I did some quick searches and didn't find any lists, just others relating their stories of getting their accounts closed, solely for "buying Bitcoin". The only actual solution I came across, was to use throw away checking accounts and stick to ACH transfers. That way, if they somehow find out what your're doing and choose to shut you down for the ACH transfers, it won't impact your day-to-day banking (debt cards, savings accounts, etc.) and cause strife. So long as they cash out your account, it is not a big deal to go get another bank account somewhere. Assuming, I didn't just get added to some national blacklist for "suspicious" customers. Others mentioned using Credit Unions, so I'm planning on hitting up one or two of those in the next couple of days. However, I was hoping for some suggestions or guidance on how to best fund my Coinbase purchases, without running afoul of corporate bank policy, or having to use "burner" accounts. I'm not doing anything illegal, and I don't want to be treated as such. Thanks for any input or experience you can offer up.

Coinbase has paltry limits. Where is the best place to safely buy Bitcoin online today (USA). $10k-$100k at a time?
Hey all! Pretty much as the text shows, a friend of mine is looking to buy $10k - $100k BTC at a time, yet I'm at his house right now and Coinbase says he has a $250 weekly limit. As he is looking to do potentially 6 figures per transaction, this obviously won't work. Where would the best place be for him to buy Bitcoin, right now/tomorrow, starting with $10k - $100k per transaction? He is from the United States if that matters. He is also from a state where Coinbase's GDAX isn't available, and Coinbase itself has a limit on his account, despite he validated literally everything you can validate. Thanks!
